Step by Step Instructions
Follow these helpful steps and create beautiful, individual coasters using nothing but standard slate plates and your trusty Trotec laser. You can also produce the appropriate storage for these coasters.
You can use any machine from the Speedy series to create this sample.
Get Creative! Come up with your very own design for the coasters, or you are always free to import our template. Adapt the graphic if you need to so that it matches the size of the slate sheets.
Now, send the job to your laser engraving machine using the following driver settings:
Process Mode | Resolution | Cut Line |
---|---|---|
Standard | 500dpi | None |
Halftone | Others |
---|---|
Colour | - |
Now you need to determine and enter the material's parameter settings. Please note that the parameters can always vary depending on the laser machine you are using and its available power.
To ensure quicker production times, try engraving all your coasters in the one step. Seeing as the individual pieces are not all 100% identical to the next, be sure to pay close attention to the positioning of your graphic - does it sit nicely on every single coaster?
Colour | Process | Power (%) | Speed (%) | ppi/Hz |

Now it's time to create your design for the coaster's storage! Again, you are free to import our template if you'd prefer. Adapt the graphic to fit the slate sheets.

We decided to use the standard parameters in JobControl for 'solid wood oak'.
Now all you need to do is connect all the individual pieces of the storage box together and place the laser engraved coasters inside!
The sky is your only limit with laser technology - you can use any design imaginable for your slate coasters! You can engrave logos, images or any other designs your customers may desire. Additionally, you can personalise the storage box with engravings as well, making this job almost entirely customisable!
