A friendly welcome for your guests

Set the vibe of your party with a fun and friendly welcome for your guests. Using a variety of materials and multiple layers we have created an outstanding sign that could be altered for any occasion. In this particular case we have used different laminate materials in different colours.


Preparation

Required material:

  • Laminate walnut/white
  • Laminate green/white with double-sided adhesive tape on the back
  • Laminate silver/black with double-sided adhesive tape on the back
  • Water
  • Sponge
  • Laminate can be purchased through our webshop.

Used Trotec Laser:

  • Speedy 300
  • 25 watts

Tips:

  • Use the 2.5" lens
  • Use a cutting table. You can thus prevent beam reflections on the back of the material.

Step by Step

Step 1:

This sample consists of three layers, the top layer (silver) - open the file "BBQ Sign 3". If you wish to engrave your own photo, you will need to import it from your computer. Convert it to a black-and-white picture and use the "Floyd-Steinberg" as conversion model, draw a contour (red hairline), before starting the engraving process. We have used the parameters below: Next engrave the centre layer of the sign in green/white. Open the file "BBQ Sign 2" and send it to the laser machine.

Laser Settings

  • Grid engraving: Speed 30 %, power 60 %, resolution 500 dpi
  • Vector cut: speed 1 %, power : 80 %, frequency 9000 Hz

Step 2:

Next engrave the centre layer of the sign in green/white. Open the file "BBQ Sign 2" and send it to the laser machine. Next engrave the centre layer of the sign in green/white. Open the file "BBQ Sign 2" and send it to the laser machine. We have used the parameters below:

  • Grid engraving: speed 30 %, power 40 % resolution 500 dpi
  • Vector cut: speed 1 %, power: 80 %, frequency 9000 Hz

Step 3:

Now you can engrave the bottom layer of the sign (walnut/white). For this, open the file "BBQ Sign 1" and send the job to the laser.

The used parameters are listed below:

  • Grid engraving: power 40 %, speed 30 %, frequency: auto
  • Vector cut: power: 65 %, speed 1 %, frequency 9000 Hz

Step 4:

Clean the three materials with water and a sponge and then glue the green sign to the center of the sign in walnut/white.


Step 5:

Now remove the film from the back of the sign in silver and stick it on the green laminate.
