Step by Step Tutorial
Try your hand at creating a set of fun and quirky fridge magnets by following our simple instructions. You can get creative and design some of your own magnets if you like, or feel free to use the cutting template we have provided.
This project can be created by any machine from the Speedy series or the SP range.
Open the graphics file (found at the bottom of this page). This will then need to be printed on your chosen material in whatever way you decide (UV printing, standard printing, etc). We decided to use TroLase Digital Print as an example product. It’s a great choice for this application as the material is designed to be printed on.
Alternatively, you can engrave the graphics onto your material instead of printing. We find the results are a lot more eye-catching when printed in colour, but if your laser machine allows it you can engrave the monsters instead. If you decide on this option, use the following laser parameters. Please note that these settings may vary depending on the laser machine and material you are using.
Colour | Process | Power (%) | Speed (%) | ppi/Hz |
---|---|---|---|---|
Black | Engrave CO2 | 40 | 100 | 600 |
Passes | Air Assist | Z-Offset | Advanced |
---|---|---|---|
1 | ON | +1.5mm | High Quality |
Once your material is prepped and ready for cutting, place it inside your laser machine. This file already has all the registration marks needed to make the software work. Once the material is in the machine, open the cutting file in JobControl Vision and send it to the laser machine using the following laser parameters.
Please note that these cutting settings may also change depending on what laser machine and material you are using.
Colour | Process | Power (%) | Speed (%) | ppi/Hz |
---|---|---|---|---|
Red | Cut CO2 | 32 | 0.8 | 5000 |
Passes | Air Assist | Z-Offset | Advanced |
---|---|---|---|
1 | ON | - | - |
