Learn how to create this funky guitar fridge magnet using our veneered wood in this step-by-step tutorial.


Preparation

Required material:

  • 1 sheet wood veneer oak 3mm
  • Magnet foil approx. 20 x 35mm or round magnet

Machine used:

  • Speedy 360, 80 watts
  • 2" lens
  • Nozzle with small hole
  • Honeycomb cutting tabletop

Note: You can use any laser machine from the Speedy series for this DIY application.


Step by Step

Step 1: Import the design file

Feel free to create your own unique design or simply use our template. Send it to the laser with the recommended laser parameters below. The parameters may vary depending on the laser machine used and the laser power available.

Print settings:

Step 2: Laser process wood

Position the material on the honeycomb cutting table in your laser machine. Ensure that the rest of the work area is covered to allow for a stronger vacuum.

Step 3: Assemble the magnet

Remove the cut guitar from the laser machine. Then, glue the magnetic foil to the back of the guitar.
