Summertime! When you hear the word ‘summer’, what images come to mind...?
Maybe swimming in the surf? Ice-blocks melting down your arms? Mosquitos and flies? (Yuck!!) Or maybe having a simple BBQ out the back with loved ones, hanging out by the poolside… Summer can be so great! But, unless you take all necessary precautions, it can be bad news for your Trotec laser machine!
We’d like to take this opportunity to remind everyone about the optimal operating temperature for any laser engraving or laser cutting machine – it could save you a lot of money!
Ensure that you always keep your laser machine at 15-25° Celsius, and keep the humidity somewhere between 40% and 70%. If you use or house your machine outside of these temperature conditions, you may shorten it’s working life!
Tips & Tricks:
- Try to avoid direct sunlight! If your laser machine happens to be located near a window, close the blinds or shutters when the sun is at its highest.
- Never place the laser or its accessories directly in front of an air conditioner. Akin to how direct sunlight can damage your machine, so too can rapid cooling. Take extra care to always keep your machine as safe as possible.
- Try opening a window from time to time, keeping the air circulating in your working room. This will help to stop heat from building up in one place for too long – such as the space around the laser machine!
By following these suggestions, your laser engraving machine should live its longest life possible, and your equipment should always be ready for optimal use. Keep in mind, the operating temperature is a part of the equipment’s warranty conditions. So please, don’t void your warranty accidentally or unnecessarily!
