How I would describe my job...
My role is to implement the Group Strategy of our business, as it applies to my market. This is inclusive of sales, marketing, technical services, relationship management, logistics, human resources and profitability.
Alongside this, I watch local market trends in the laser business, which may benefit us, both in terms of laser hardware and applications.
I spend most of my day...
- Meeting my 'Key Performance Indicators'.
- Monitoring feedback from staff regarding their KPI’s.
- Operational matters from sales - systems - customer interface.
- Communications with headquarters.
"We were at a Fespa Trade show and I told staff to go and get competitor information, photos of their booth, pricing, catalogues etc. The staff member came back saying that not only was a competitor operating a laser with an open lid but that the hair of the lady operator who was leaning over the laser fell under the laser beam and caught fire for a moment."- A funny anecdote from my work life - Clive Heydenrych -
The coolest thing about my job is...
...the variety and complexity of the challenge to attain group objectives.
The thing I love most about Trotec is...
...the evolution of existing laser products, the introduction of a continual new suite of products, exposure to state-of-the-art sales and marketing techniques.
