    Special notes:

    • Laminates tend to bend during laser engraving. We therefore used a 2” lens in order to reduce the thermal impact on the material.
    • If possible, use a vacuum table.
    • Use as little power as possible to get best engraving results. E#
    • Especially when engraving dark laminates, it is advisable to engrave from bottom to top.
    • If you cannot keep the material from bending, it can help to cut first and engrave afterwards. It reduces the problem of the material to be out of focus after engraving.

  • Laser engraving and laser cutting sign - Step 1

    Step 1:

Power: 80 %This sample consists of three different layers. We started with the top layer in silver. Open the file “BBQ Sign 3”. If you wish to engrave an individual picture, import it into the file. Convert the file into a black and whit image using Floyd-Steinberg as conversion method. Draw an outline (red hairline). Start engraving using the parameters for raster engraving and vector cutting below:

    Raster Engraving: Speed: 30 % Power: 60 % Resolution: 500 dpi

    Vector Cutting: Speed: 1 %, Power: 80 %, Frequency: 9000 Hz

  • Laser engraving and laser cutting sign - Step2

    Step 2:

Next engrave the second layer of the sign (Rowmark Lasermark pine

green/white). Open the file “BBQ Sign 2” and send the job to the engraver. Start
