Harmonie Loisirs is a company based in Laval, Quebec specializing in producing scrapbooking supplies, card making and embellishments.

Harmonie produces intricate designs for scrapbookers which require a very precise cutting edge and no contact to the material.  To produce acrylic blocks for the clear stamps to adhere to, the edges have to be very smooth with no rough edges.

Harmonie processes four different materials in various thicknesses.  It will need to easily and quickly cut through chipboard, plywood, and acrylic.

Harmonie requires a machine that is not limited to cutting many different materials and thicknesses.   The laser must have a generously sized table and high wattage.

A low maintenance solution since it will be operating up to 10 hours per day.

Must have a high processing speed to accommodate fast delivery of product to customers.

Since scrapbooking is an ever-changing hobby with many trends, it is important to have a laser cutting system that is flexible and software that is easy to work with.

Harmonie would also like to consider additional uses for the laser in the future such as signs.

Trotec responded to the request with a Speedy 500, 200watt, with a Mistral exhaust including a pre-filter.

The size of table will accommodate several work pieces and not be limited to future use.  The 200 watt laser tube will allow for plenty of power for the materials used, and the acceleration and processing speed can keep up with the customer demand.

Furthermore, the “Tab” feature in the JobControl software allows the material to be cut but remain as one piece using “Tabs” to hold cut material to the sheet.  This has proved to be very useful for material handling at Harmonie.  It is more efficient for production and the laser is able to run continuously.
