Positioning the engraving and cutting jobs correctly is one major factor for perfect engraving and cutting results. Especially when engraving intricate layouts on expensive items of irregular shape (e.g. cell phones, i-pods or laptops), it is important to check the correct position of the engraving prior to starting the engraving job.
Trotec's JobControl software therefore has the "job outline function" supporting both experienced users and beginners to avoid wrong positioning and therefore saves time and money.
How it works:
Once the job is sent to the JobControl software and positioned on the plate, click on Edit - Outline job(s). The lens carriage begins travelling along the surrounding shape of the selected job(s). The laser is switched off, while the red dot laser pointer indicates the position of the job content.
Important: The red dot laser pointer travels along the effective outline and not along the biggest rectangle.
This movement is repeated until the action is cancelled.
You therefore have the chance to either position the job to another position on the plate or move the object to be engraved.
Once you are sure that the positioning is correct, cancel the job outline function and start engraving.
This ensures that the job is positioned correctly and prevents faulty engravings.
