When I first bought my speedy 300 from Trotec, Oliver said “welcome to the Trotec family!” I kind of rolled my eyes internally and thought “yeah right!” A few months later when I had my first issue, I called and was put through to John, who was out on an install, who was able to take time out of what he was doing and talk me through the issue. Problem solved, happy customer.
A couple of months later I noticed my table had a minor issue so I called Trotec, and after a bit of chat to determine the cause of the problem decided to leave it for a while. The problem got a little worse and was beginning to affect quality, so I mentioned it again, John was here the next day with a new table, while he was here we went through the alignment procedure and talked shop. Again, problem solved & happy customer.
Another couple of months down the track and we are busy, running the machine 60+ hours a week and I have an acrylic fire in the machine, which combined with the dry powder extinguisher, writes off the machine totally. This was on a Friday afternoon, 4pm. So I call Trotec to see what my options are. Oliver says “mmm. How busy are you at the moment?” I say “very!” Oliver says “OK John is loading the demonstrator machine in the van now; it will be there Monday morning first thing”. I almost fell of my chair! Here I was expecting to wait 4-6 weeks for my replacement machine and to kiss goodbye all those jobs, and eventually customers, when in actual fact I was going to struggle to clear the old machine out of the way in time for the new one!
So what would I say to someone thinking of purchasing a laser from Trotec? “DO IT!” The machines are unsurpassed in quality; they do everything they say they can, very well. My machine is blisteringly fast, and I love the repeatability and consistency of the machine. The service is unbelievable - I have owned a few machines now and never experienced such good service, and not only good service but a genuine desire to help with problems and growing your business
