  • Laser cutting and laser engraving wooden toy

    Materials needed:
    • 4 mm plywood
    • 4 split pins
    • 1.2 m (3 ft) of twine

    Files:

Jumping Kids - file for girl and boy

    Machines possible:

    Speedy 100, Speedy 300 and Speedy 500

Machine used: Speedy 500 85 watts

    Special notes:

    • We used a 2.5” lens and the small nozzle.
    • Get best results by engraving from bottom to top, using a honeycomb table to reduce reflections on the back of the material.
    • Using external compressed air and Speedy 500 gives best results on wood.

  • Laser cutting wooden toy step 1

    Step 1:

Open the file "Jumping Kids" and send it to the laser. Start engraving and cutting using the following speed and power settings (these parameters may vary depending on the machine used and the laser power available)

    Black (engraving)

    Power: 30 %, speed 100 %, resolution 250 dpi, air assist off

    Red (scratching):
    Power: 20 %, speed 1 %, frequency 1000 Hz, gas 1 (compressed air)

    Blue and cyan (cutting):
    Power: 100 %, speed 1 %, freqzency 1000 Hz, gas 1 (compressed air)

Tipp: Get best cutting results by engraving with 250 dpi and cutting with 1000 dpi resolution. To do so, send the file to the laser twice (at 250 dpi and 1000 dpi). Engrave black areas first (skip red, blue and cyan). The cut the second file (activate red, blue and cyan and skip black)
